Highlighting parts of code

Please, is it possible to enable the <mark> tag within a <code> block?

For example:

<pre><code class="hljs javascript" data-trim data-noescape data-line-numbers>
if (<mark>condition</mark>) {
    // Block A
} else {
    // Block B
}
</code></pre>

The <mark> is not applied to parts of the <code>.
