Addressing technical debt
I started doing some work around addressing annoying problems of the codebases that caused us to chase issues over and over again, for example when dealing with TTLs in providers. We determined that this tech debt is causing us more issues than any small win can address and we want to fix it as much as possible.
This sounds great but is it all good news? Well, not really: PR reviews that touch those parts will be delayed.
When will the next version of ExternalDNS be released?
It was originally planned at the beginning of November, but giving the tech debt efforts mentioned above, it will be delayed. I gave myself 2 weeks of timeframe to find time to work on the previous point. If I'm not going to have a PR ready by 2020-11-26, I will start drafting a release to get the changes that we have right now out, in what will likely be the last release of 2020.
