Does removing the first owner, have any negative impact upon an organization?

My former boss has retired. He created our GitHub Enterprise and the two GitHub Organizations we have. As far as the Organizations go, there is currently 3 of us who are owners. If I remove my boss as an owner of the 2 Organizations, does that close/delete those Organizations? Or is there any other negative consequence of removing my former boss as an owner?

Hi there @Rod-at-DOH,

There are no anticipated negative impacts to your account if you are already an owner and remove your boss. The organizations will not be closed or deleted.

One thing to advise, removing them from the organization does not update the billing information on file for the organization account. Another owner or a billing manager must update the billing information on file to remove their credit card or PayPal information if they were managing payment.

I hadn't thought about the billing information. Good point! I'll find out who handles that.
